Joyride to Umiam!

I know I am late in sharing this, but boredom has stuck very hardly during this Quarantine and as follows this narration of my unforgettable trip to Umiam!

As you might have come to know that we are a family who loves travelling a lot. Travelling is in our blood, literally! We just love it. So 15th Jan 2020, we managed to plan a day out towards Shillong. We have been to Shillong a couple of times but have never been to Umiam Lake which is 15 kms north of Shillong. So its decided, 15th Jan – Outing to Shillong.

After a brief stop at Byrnihat for morning tea we continued our journey to Umiam. Finally after much anticipation we reached Umiam.

It was noon, and we decided to have lunch in a famous and lavishing 4star Hotel Ri Kynjai. Arguably it was one of the best experiences I ever had out of all the places I have ever been to. Less words and more photos. Just take a look at this hotel! I’m sure you would be mesmerized.

After refilling our tanks, we took our time and enjoyed being so close to nature… It was bliss..

So after a while, we started our journey back to Guwahati. We reached Guwahati at around 6pm and pulled over my car for an evening tea break at a roadside tea stall! I swear on God it was super delicious. A Journey started with a morning tea and ends with an evening tea.

Thus, we celebrated Bihu in a special way and this gave us a much needed break from the hectic schedule. Hope you had liked this blog and I believe this should instigate the traveller in you, but ofcourse after this lockdown ends..
